These charts show current river gage heights in feet (ft) based on live USGS monitoring data. The line graph tracks how river levels have changed over the past several days, while the reading at the top shows the most recent reported level and timestamp (generally updated at least once every hour). In general, lower numbers often mean slower, shallower conditions while higher numbers can mean faster current, deeper water, and changing river conditions.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- One of the most important things to understand is that rivers respond to rainfall upstream — not just where you are standing. A river may look calm locally while rising quickly from storms miles away. Conditions can shift overnight or even within a few hours after heavy rain.
- This is not the exact depth of the river everywhere. Every river behaves differently.
- A “good” level on this river may not be a “good” level on a different river.
